woot, this finally came back in stock at Kinokuniya. I snapped it up because the last time I saw it and didn't buy it, it was MONTHS before it showed up again.

It's a little hard to read because the kanji mostly has no furigana and there's a lot of handwritten kanji to boot (although Arakawa-sensei's handwriting is not terrible) but the humor comes through just fine.
also at the bottom of each page is a little doodle that is a flip animation! WHEEE!

Date: 2012-05-02 09:07 am (UTC)I think scanlators avoid it because the language is too hard (like Moyashimon), and the humor is too esoteric. It's just Arakawa-sensei reminiscing (sometimes cynically but always with warmth) about growing up on a dairy farm in Hokkaido where your main enemies are bears, squirrels and weeds and how far away everything resembling civilization is. And she can get quite technical and rhapsodic about The Meaning of Farming.XD
